COMMON AREAS OF THE MEDIA VILLAGES FOR THE XX OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES , TURIN
GLA has been actively involved in the development of several venues for the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin, providing expertise in hospitality and mixed-use projects.
We designed the public areas of seven different villages, to host over 5300 journalists during the Games. The “Media Villages” were located both in renovated existing structures and in newly constructed buildings that have been later converted to different functions.
The challenge of this project was to guarantee a three-star quality accommodation level while respecting the strict budget parameters required by the Organising Committee.
